THE BODY AS TALISMAN
This body of monotypes is the third and final series related to Terrible Beauty, a remembering of a childhood sexual assault. Through my own journey of healing from sexual trauma the final step was making peace with my own body, letting go of the quiet notion that my body somehow betrayed me on that day and taking the first step towards empowerment and transformation, a comfort within my own skin, the world righted again. This work was completed at Blue Mountain Center in the Adirondacks of New York. The work was unveiled at an exhibition in the woods. See the story here, Redeeming the Woods.
